On May 17, 2017, Canada Health Ministry issued the No. 10 announcement torevise the regulations about the management of food medicines in the face ofserious problems with veterinary antibiotic drug resistance,in order tostrengthen the regulation of veterinary drugs.The new regulations mainlyinclude the following requirements:1.The imported and sold activepharmaceutical ingredients required to observe good production specification(GMP). 2.Personnel who is in charge of importing, manufacturing, packaging,labeling or testing of veterinary API shall meet the requirements of the permit(EL). 3. The importer and the manufacturer shall provide the sales informationof antibiotics. 4. Restrict self-use and unauthorized use of importedveterinary drugs. 5. Require importers and manufacturers to provide informationon low-risk veterinary drugs to reduce the need for antimicrobials. Regulation7, 8 (1) and (3) and 9 of these regulations shall be implemented on May 17, 2018,the remaining regulations shall be implemented on November 17, 2017.
