At the just-concluded India INC conference, the World Dried Fruit Councilissued a forecast for Turkish hazelnut production in 2017, Turkish hazelnutproduction is expected to be 670,000 tons (in-shell), and 50,000 tons stockswill remain in the new production season, so in the 2017/18 production season,the sales volume of Turkish hazelnuts will be about 720,000 tons.But Turkishhazelnut industry is cautious of the forecast, as there will still be threemonths to go into the harvest, pests and diseases,weather that all will affectthe hazelnuts production.
